Yohan Zibi, co-founder of EveryCheck, aims to ‘restore confidence’ in the recruitment industry by conducting background checks on candidates for both recruiters and companies. In a video interview, Zibi provides more insight.
Verification within a few days
“EveryCheck is a French company that verifies the diplomas, experience, and identity of candidates. In the US and the UK, it is quite common to perform such verifications. We decided about eight years ago to bring this to the European market. We provide assurance to recruiters and companies by checking CVs, references, and other information for them. Within a few days, we can provide certainty about the candidate for a relatively modest amount. So, we work at the end of the recruitment process.”
Candidate authorisation
So, how does the platform work? “For instance, clients can upload a candidate’s CV to our SaaS platform. Our system then sends an invitation to the candidate for authorisation; otherwise, you have no right to conduct a check. We need about two days to reach out to schools and former employers by phone or other means to gather the information. We do this globally. Mostly, it’s large companies that seek our assistance, but we also work with smaller companies. We have clients for whom we check 5 candidates per year and companies that have more than 10,000 candidates checked annually by us.”

Roadmap for the coming years
So, what’s on the roadmap for 2024 and beyond? “We’ve built a solid business model, and now the plan is to further refine our services and sell them more extensively. Primarily in French-speaking countries: France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. That’s the roadmap for the next two years. We are also hiring a lot of people to further strengthen our team. And we’re increasingly integrating AI into our solutions so that we can become even faster, better, and more cost-effective.”
“With AI, we can streamline the subtasks that make up our work even more effectively.”
