What is the ‘AI Nirvana’ and why you certainly need it for recruitment

Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to increase impact, also on recruitment. DK Bartley, Vice President & Head of Talent Acquisition at Dentsu Aegis Network gave a presentation at Unleash 2018 in London about AI and why we need the so-called ‘AI Nirvana’.

Embrace AI

DK Bartley is convinced about the enormous potential of AI. “Not only is AI here, but it’s going to be here for a while. Way faster than you know it. Whether you’re a doctor, a teacher or whatsoever, AI is here to stay and it’s going to be a part of your job. So, it’s better that you embrace it than thinking it’s not going to affect you.”

Unbiased

One of the biggest advantages according to DK Bartley is that AI makes the process unbiased. “Most importantly having AI is a very focused way of taking out the bias from an algorithm standpoint. In regards to what your organisation is looking, for if it’s race or gender etcetera, and ensure you that you have a way to actually look at the data from a KPI-perspective to ensure that it is a truly unbiased process.”

DK Bartley telling about the so called ‘AI Nirvana’ at Unleash 2018 in London.

Money

But the main question of his story is: why do you need AI Nirvana? “The number one reason is simple: it’s always about cost, it’s always about money. With AI you can lower the candidate acquisition cost. Besides that, you become more engaged and aware of candidates and the candidates get more engaged and aware of you and your organisation.”

The real Nirvana

“There is more: it reduces attrition at all levels of the Talent Acquisition process and it delivers greater recruiter efficiency and accountability”, he continues. “You have accurate metrics and real-time analysis. And this is the real Nirvana: you become an employer of choice. That’s the AI Nirvana. When you implement artificial intelligence and you’re able to say: this is the look and the feel of the organization.”

Enhance the candidates career

This ‘feel’ is extremely important. “AI gives them the opportunity to arrange and manage their business in a simple way, all by themselves. Whoever that candidate may be, has a perception of you not only about you being cutting edge but really allowing you to feel that you did something to help them really enhance their career”, ends DK Bartley his story about the AI Nirvana at Unleash 2018.

The ‘AI Nirvana’ in short:

  • Lower Candidate Acquisition Cost
  • More engaged & aware candidates
  • Reduced attrition at all levels of the TA Process
  • Greater recruiter efficiency and accountability
  • Talent, Diversity & Inclusion as a real strategy
  • Accurate metrics and real-time analysis
  • Become An Employer of choice
  • Innovation & technology as a competitive advantage
