Pre-employment assessments, such as cognitive ability tests and job knowledge tests, are good predictors of job performance. These assessments can be done quickly and easily with well-designed software.

Assessments for recruitment

Workable has made a list of the best assessment tools for recruitment that can help you select good candidates for interviews and eventual hiring. We have listed 8 of the tools here:

Adaface

Adaface provides an AI-driven method to automate first-round tech interviews and evaluate candidates for software roles. Ada is an intelligent chatbot that can ask and evaluate technical questions, participate in technical chats with candidates, provide information, and more.

Berke

The Berke Assessment is a scalable test that measures personality and intelligence. Berke also lets you create ‘hiring profiles’ – lists of desired behavioral traits and problem-solving skills – and compare each candidate’s results against them.

HireSelect

HireSelect is a testing platform that offers online aptitude, personality and skills tests. Designed by Harvard psychologists, these tests help you assess candidates more objectively.

HR Avatar

HR Avatar offers simulation-based pre-employment tests that measure various factors, such as cognitive skills and knowledge about the job. The tests are not text-based, but animated and simulate real work situations like the reaction to an angry customer.

McQuaig

McQuaig is one of the most experienced talent assessment tools with over 50 years of experience providing personality and cognitive ability tests to candidates. You can create job profiles against which you evaluate candidates, or use job profiles from McQuaig’s library of standardized job profiles based on real recruiting data.

Saberr

Saberr offers a way to assess cultural fit. This tool uses data and analysis to determine if a candidate has similar values to your team. Saberr also predicts whether the candidate would get along well with each team member.

Skillsarena

Skillsarena offers psychometric assessments and tests for many skills and competencies, including intelligence, communication, numerical reasoning and computer skills. It also has specific tests for industries such as retail, housing, logistics and finance.

ThriveMap

ThriveMap develops personalized, realistic work simulation assessments that help companies screen and rank candidates more effectively. Their assessments take candidates through a digital ‘day in the life’ of a specific position within a company and uniquely explore how desired behaviors are reflected within your unique corporate culture and work environment.
