“We felt it was important to start offering more local expertise to our international clients and partners, and Sweden was the perfect place for us to start doing that. With strong economic development and a market with a global mindset, the Nordics were a logical next step for us. We saw that Scandinavia wasn’t quite as far along in developing screening solutions as the Netherlands is, but that the recruitment culture over there is shifting towards more digitization and a more organized data infrastructure. With the added bonus of already serving a few Nordic clients and being able to partner up with a leading local recruitment firm, Boardtalk, we saw a great opportunity.”

Branching out into different fields and markets always comes with its own set of challenges, and the expansion of Validata into the Nordics is no exception to that. “It’s key to get a feel for the recruitment culture and to get to know the market and potential data partners,” Voogt says. “And you have to really grasp the local legislation and certifications, to make sure that your services are up to code. Luckily we’ve done it once before for the Dutch market.
