Karoline Bierlich (Talk’n’Job): ‘Our tool is as simple for recruiters as it is for candidates’

Talk’n’Job is a 100% voice-driven chat application specifically for recruiting blue collar workers. Recruitment Tech interviewed Karoline Bierlich, the company’s Head of Communication, to learn more about the German start-up.

Keeping barriers at a minimum

Founded in 2020, Germany-based Talk’n’Job aims to be the voice-guided chat application that makes it easier to recruit blue-collar workers. “It all starts with job profiles and young people”, says Bierlich. “Young professionals and students are primarily a voice-driven generation. Everybody uses voice memos every day can use this voice-driven chat application. So we solve the problem of not getting any candidates because of a too complicated recruitment process.”

“We want to take every excuse from the candidates to not apply”

“We are trying to keep the barriers of applying to a minimum”, Bierlich continues. “So we want to take every excuse from the candidates to not apply. The main benefits are that you get more candidates because it’s such a simple process. It just takes two minutes to apply for a job and you don’t even need any documents, CV or a resume.”

‘Nobody does what we do’

Talk’n’Job isn’t just tailored for companies, however. “We see that we’re able to create a really good candidate experience”, Bierlich says. “Which in turn has an impact on employer branding. What makes Talk’n’Job special is the simplicity of our tool. We’re just a simple add-on, so we can be used on everything companies already have. The other thing is that our process is just new. Nobody does what we do.”

“For the recruiters, it’s just as simple as it is for the candidates.”

As far as the process goes, simplicity really is key, according to Bielrlich. “Candidates don’t have to get out of the chat in order to apply”, she says. “For the recruiters, it’s just as simple as it is for the candidates. After the candidate has finished the interview, a transcript of the whole chat with contact details gets right to the company, to the recruiters. So that could be integrated in an ATS, or not — whichever the company prefers. So it works for both sides.”

‘It works for everbody’

The Talk’n’Job tool has already been integrated in several applicant tracking systems (ATS). “In terms of customers, everybody can use it. Every industry and every company size. We’re working with a lot of big companies in retail, hospitality and logistics — but also with smaller companies and some job platforms. We also work with some agencies for temporary staffing. So it just works for everybody. You just you need to make sure to be aware of your target group and then everyone can use it.”

Aiming for the US, UK and France

While Talk’n’Job is still relatively new, the German company already has its sights on expanding to other markets. “We’re now trying to get into the UK, US and French markets. We’re in the process of attaining clients there. So our roadmap for the next twelve months is quite simple. We want to grow, we want to get bigger”, Bierlich concludes empathically.
