JobCannon, a rapidly growing recruitment startup founded by a Ukrainian-Israeli team, has announced the acquisition of the Ukrainian startup Adsme. Headquartered in the UK, JobCannon aims to leverage AI to streamline the job search process for both employers and candidates. “Building JobCannon stemmed from my own struggles finding the right job”, said CEO and founder Peter Kolomiets. “By prioritising skills over resumes, we can create a more effective matching system.”
Combining AI in recruitment with ad expertise
The acquisition brings together JobCannon’s AI-powered recruitment platform with Adsme’s expertise in real-time advertising forecasting. Adsme’s technology analyses vast amounts of data for visual and text advertising on major platforms, allowing for optimized campaign performance. By integrating these tools, JobCannon aims to significantly improve its candidate search and matching algorithms, potentially leading to a higher success rate for both employers and job seekers.
JobCannon was founded in 2022 by Ukrainians Peter Kolomiets, Alex Molodyk, and Andrii Cherednichenko. “What makes JobCanon different from other HRtech startups is that it allows candidates to focus on their special abilities”, the company says. “This tactic separates JobCannon in the employment market by creating hiring procedures that are quicker and more effective.”
Expanding their reach
Viktor Levchenko, co-founder of Adsme, joins JobCannon’s board as CTO. Levchenko brings over 14 years of experience in web development and a focus on utilizing AI for business optimization. He is committed to using his expertise to develop more effective hiring practices. “Our goal is to become a leading platform connecting top talent with the best companies”, Levchenko said. “By merging Adsme’s AI advancements with JobCannon’s platform, we can create a more efficient and innovative recruiting experience.”
This acquisition follows JobCannon’s previous strategic move of acquiring the Israeli recruitment agency Digital Hunters. The combined entity expanded JobCannon’s reach to multiple countries and provided valuable insights from an established agency, further strengthening their software-as-a-service (SaaS) product.
Focus on skills-based matching
JobCannon initially focused on software developers for their minimum viable product (MVP) due to the high demand for this skillset and familiarity with testing methodologies. However, they have plans to expand their product portfolio to include other in-demand fields like marketing, sales, and business development. “Building JobCannon stemmed from my own struggles finding the right job”, said CEO and founder Peter Kolomiets. “By prioritising skills over resumes, we can create a more effective matching system.”
