In 2023 Germany-based Talk’n’Job clinched the esteemed UNLEASH World 2023 Startup Award. In a video interview with Recruitment Tech, Karoline Bierlich shared her reflections on the victory and the unique attributes that set Talk’n’Job apart.

Simplifying job applications

Founded in 2020, Germany-based Talk’n’Job aims to be the voice-guided chat application that makes it easier to recruit blue-collar workers. “It all starts with job profiles and young people”, says Bierlich, the company’s head of communications. “Young professionals and students are primarily a voice-driven generation. Everybody uses voice memos every day can use this voice-driven chat application. So we solve the problem of not getting any candidates because of a too complicated recruitment process.”

“This user-friendly approach democratises the job-seeking process, inviting a broader spectrum of applicants.”

Central to Talk’n’Job’s success is its pioneering mobile voice-guided chat application, which drastically simplifies job applications. Bierlich enthused about the application’s design, saying, “Talk’n’Job essentially allows candidates to apply in just two minutes, eliminating traditional barriers. It’s about making the application process as effortless as possible. This user-friendly approach democratises the job-seeking process, inviting a broader spectrum of applicants.”

UNLEASH World 2023 Startup Award

Bierlich recounted the mixture of surprise and pride that accompanied their win. “Winning the award was unexpected yet incredibly affirming”, she told Recruitment Tech. “It validates our efforts and the innovative approach we’ve taken.” The competition process involved a pitch and a Q&A session, through which Talk’n’Job demonstrated its distinct value proposition. “We had a brief window to present our vision and answer queries. The announcement came shortly after, marking a moment of sheer joy for our team.”

‘Seamless integration’

Talk’n’Job’s strength lies in its ‘seamless integration’ with applicant tracking systems (ATS), enhancing recruiters’ experience. ” system integrates effortlessly into existing ATS platforms, or for those without, directly via email. It’s about streamlining the process for recruiters.. By simply incorporating a link or QR code into their job offers, recruiters offer a direct gateway for candidates to engage with the application process.”

Sights on strategic expansion

The application’s broad appeal across various sectors is a testament to its versatile design. “We serve a wide array of clients, from large corporations to small trades businesses. The focus is on the target group rather than the industry.”

“We’re exploring opportunities in the US and enhancing our platform with AI capabilities to further enrich the recruitment ecosystem.”

Looking ahead, Bierlich shared ambitions for geographic and technological expansion, “Our immediate focus is on penetrating the UK market, leveraging successes like our engagement with the NHS. Additionally, we’re exploring opportunities in the US and enhancing our platform with AI capabilities to further enrich the recruitment ecosystem.”
