TalentSourcery is an automated web app and API tool for talent sourcing that enables users to copy talent data in real-time from websites such as LinkedIn. “It’s sourcing with a little bit of magic”, Kim and Gordon Lokenberg say in an interview with Recruitment Tech. Listen to the interview below.
‘A killer sourcing machine’
Most people will know Kim and Gordon Lokenberg from sourcing specialist The Lokenbergs as well as their various appearances as recruitment-related events throughout the world. Their newest tech start-up called TalentSourcery is still in BETA version. “But it works”, Kim Lokenberg says. “We have a first few clients now and we use it ourselves as well.”
TalentSourcery is an automated sourcing solution, but the first one of its kind to rely on real-time data. “We know that there are a couple of sourcing tools out there, but they always use static data”, Kim Lokenberg says. “So a couple of years ago, during COVID, we had the sourcing summit online and we met a Brazilian recruiter and developer. And he had exactly the same idea as us. So we started talking and we’ve been building for the past two and a half years to make a killer sourcing machine.”
Pay-per-search or API connection
TalentSourcery starts with a simple form, entailing what it is that should be on the other end of a search. “So you fill out a form and submit the sort of people you want, you hit enter and wait a couple of minutes. Then you get real-time, organised and enriched talent data that you can download to your system.” The tool can be used in two ways. “You can use it as a search machine where you pay per search or you buy the API connection, then it’s embedded into your system. The API connection could be a wonderful add-on for an ATS.”
Teaching recruiters to source better
TalentSourcery is meant for anyone who works within recruitment. “It could be any company that needs people”, Kim Lokenberg adds. “But also independent recruiters can use it. It’s for anyone who is involved in the hiring process. We really wanted to make it affordable so that standalone, freelance recruiters can use it.”
“A lot of the companies that scrape systems and use the data, quickly find out how that data has grown irrelevant, because that person is already onto their third or fourth next job.”
While part of what the Lokenbergs aim to resolve is a sourcing issue, the real-time data element of TalentSourcery is what makes the tool stand out. “For us, it was the most important thing. Because a lot of the companies that scrape systems and use the data, quickly find out how that data has grown irrelevant, because that person is already onto their third or fourth next job.”
Sourcing with a touch of magic
As far as the roadmap goes, the big goal for TalentSourcery is to get the clients connected, get people acquainted with it and roll-out across the world. “It’s sourcing with a touch of magic”, Gordon Lokenberg says. “We now have our first clients in Brazil. We want to enrol more people internationally, particularly in the United States, where they tend to source a little bit differently to Europe. We’re also onboarding a client in the Philippines. So we aim to spread the word globally that it’s a great addition to a recruitment tech stack.”
