Eightfold is on a continued mission to eliminate bias with the power of AI and Talent Intelligence. “We pioneered the use of AI to enhance talent management. And bring optimised, actionable talent insights and personalised experiences for users throughout every step of the journey”, said Ashutosh Garg, CEO of Eightfold AI.
The power of Talent Intelligence
Talent Intelligence (TI) refers to the utilisation of data and analytics to guide choices related to talent acquisition. It encompasses activities ranging from candidate sourcing to finalising hiring choices. This approach empowers leaders in talent acquisition to base their decisions on data-driven insights, consequently enhancing the overall hiring results. Through the strategic application of data and analytics, these leaders can gain deeper insights into their hiring procedures, pinpoint areas that could be optimised, and make well-informed determinations regarding the selection of candidates to bring on board.
Integrating more technology-driven insights into the decision-making process is never a bad thing.
With the use of the right technology, Talent Intelligence has the potential to revolutionise the way organisations approach their talent acquisition strategies. By harnessing advanced tools for data collection, analysis, and interpretation, companies can gain an understanding of their recruitment processes. That, as a result, can result in enhanced efficiency, while sourcing sourcing, evaluating, and ultimately selecting the most suitable candidates can happen more precisely. Furthermore, integrating more technology-driven insights into the decision-making process is never a bad thing.
Eliminating bias with AI and talent intelligence
In 2016, Ashutosh Garg and Varun Kacholia set out to build a holistic platform wherein they could eliminate biases out of recruiting hiring, professional development and advancement. With roughly 80 patents and more than 6,000 citations, the two former Google and Facebook scientists are widely respected for their work within the field of search and artificial intelligence. They could have taken their extensive knowledge and experience about building AI programs to any place in the world — but they opted for talent acquisition. And that’s how Eightfold was born as a platform specifically catered towards improving Talent Intelligence.
“What we have done is combined all of the data that exists about people in internal systems like applicant tracking systems, human resource information systems, and combine that with the data that exists about people on the public web.”
“We are a company that has foundationally invented this category of a talent intelligence platform”, Sachit Kamat, chief product officer at Eightfold, told Recruitment Tech in an in-depth interview during UNLEASH 2022. “What we have done is combined all of the data that exists about people in internal systems like applicant tracking systems, human resource information systems, and combine that with the data that exists about people on the public web. We have effectively created these incredibly deep profiles of people that allow a bunch of applications to be built on top of it.”
AI-powered co-pilots
In April 2023, the company announced the integration of recent advances in generative AI LLM’s (large language models) to create two, role-specific Talent Intelligence co-pilots. The two co-pilots, one for employees, one for recruiters, offer text generation capabilities and language understanding to assist with their activities at every stage of the talent management process.
- Employee Copilot: Designed to help every employee better manage their career and complete talent development tasks. An employee can use this Copilot to assist in aggregating career insights, identifying career education opportunities, or discover career options available to them within the organisation, using a conversational, prompt-based interface.
- Recruiter Copilot: Assists recruiters as they go through the talent acquisition journey. Recruiters can ask the Copilot to help with interview scheduling. They can send candidate reminders, generate a job description and consolidate insights from across the platform. Using natural language interaction, this can enhance recruiter productivity and ease day-to-day tasks.

Transforming the industry with technology
“We pioneered the use of AI to enhance talent management, bringing optimised, actionable talent insights and personalised experiences for users throughout every step of the journey”, said Ashutosh Garg, CEO of Eightfold AI. “Now with the power of generative AI models, we are enhancing that experience while continuing to adhere to our principles of responsible AI. We are committed to developing AI responsibly and ethically through fairness, transparency, and privacy.”
“I’d say that we are the further along in this industry about making humans much more effective at what they do, using the power of the data and the power of AI.”
While Eightfold has steadily grown into a household name within the world of recruitment technology — Kamat told Recruitment Tech that he views the transformation as an iterative process. “I’d say that we are the further along in this industry about making humans much more effective at what they do. Using the power of the data and the power of AI. Historically, the trust on technologies like this in this industry has been low. And so making that transformation happen obviously comes with a lot of change management, a lot of transformation work, which is what we’ve been undertaking with many of our customers.”
