In the new column Friday Fact, Recruitment Tech looks at a fact about recruitment technology based on recent research. This week: 80% of UK recruiters use remote recruitment tools during lockdown.

Remote recruitmenttools

Since COVID-19 hit our daily lives, organisations around the world have had to change their recruitment and onboarding practices to ensure they are able to find talent and deliver a great candidate experience; online! While this may sound like the future, for many recruiters this shift has actually made finding the right talent harder in the first place. With no one in the office to conduct interviews, organisations need to think carefully about how they can effectively recruit and on-board new employees.

80% used tool

New research shows that as many as eighty per cent of UK recruiters in sectors such as hospitality, retail, health, social care and construction used at least one online recruitment tool during the lockdown. These include video recruitment tools or tools for recruiting via social media.

The survey also found that 37% found it more difficult to find the right talent, but at the same time, as many as 66% expect to move to a more hybrid recruitment model in the future. In the latter case, online tools will also be used after corona. Incidentally, it also emerged that a significant proportion of recruiters, some 25%, feel that additional training is required to master the new way of working.

30 free tools

Video job applications, employees working from home and video conferencing have become daily fare for recruiters. Recruitment Tech made a list of 30 free tools to help recruiters through the corona pandemic with tools for recruitment, communication and productivity. You can find the full list here. Are you looking for tools to boost your onboarding? Then this is an interesting list for you.
