Recruitment has entered the era of conversational AI. Let us introduce you to 5 conversational AI assistants that are taking over recruiting’s simple tasks and more.
They’re everywhere
Conversational AI assistants are, quite literally, everywhere. Beyond our daily conversations with Siri and Alexa — the same type of tools are also rapidly tricking into the talent acquisition process. According to Aptitude Research, 47% of companies are using or are planning to use conversational AI solutions in 2021 compared to a mere 7% in 2019. You can read more about this in our article: The era of conversational AI in recruitment: ‘It’s an assistant, not a bot’.
Olivia: Not just a chatbot
US-based Paradox created Olivia, its own conversational AI assistant, based around a simple question: if we had an assistant to help get work done, what would we want that assistant to do? Named after founder Aaron Matos’ wife, Olivia is sold as ‘an always-on partner who’s ready for just about anything’.
“She’s not a chatbot. She’s a second set of hands for every recruiter.”
Ranging from screening resumes, answering candidates questions or scheduling interviews — Olivia can do it all. “Olivia works alongside your core tools — syncing candidate data seamlessly and working in the background to simplify hiring for everyone”, Paradox states. She’s not a chatbot. She’s a second set of hands for every recruiter. She’s a 24/7 concierge for your candidates.”
XOR: screening and scoring
Founded by Aida Fazylona in 2017, XOR uses a customisable chatbot and workflow automation to engage, screen and hire candidates. “Our conversational AI can screen your candidates. Moreover, it can score them, and schedule interviews right on your calendar”, the company says. “That means more time for you speaking with great talent and making faster hires.”
The conversational AI chatbot is a part of XOR’s own sourcing database and automated scheduling. It enhances the candidate experience for several of its customers’ recruiting process. IBS RPO saw its candidate experience jump over 99% within the first week after implementing XOR’s solution. Candidates for a Fortune 500 restaurant, meanwhile, scored its AI 8.87 out of 10.
HireVue (AllyO): hiring in days, not weeks
Co-founders Ankit Somani and Sahni’s combined Google, McKinsey, and MIT knowledge and experience came together in AllyO, an end-to-end recruiting solution that promises to automate the ‘most tedious and time-consuming pieces of talent acquisition’. AllyO was officially acquired by HireVue, the global leader in virtual and assessment technology, in 2020.
“AllyO instantly handles many of the time-consuming, repetitive tasks, freeing them up to personally engage with the most qualified candidates.”
“The addition of AllyO to HireVue’s solutions will enable talent acquisition teams to have engaging, personalised conversations with millions of active job-seekers any time of day or night and on the devices they prefer”, said Kevin Parker, CEO of HireVue. “AllyO instantly handles many of the time-consuming, repetitive tasks, freeing them up to personally engage with the most qualified candidates.”
Stepstone (Mya): Redefining the recruiting model
Mya’s mission revolves around getting rid of the inefficiencies of the existing recruiting model. “It means the right talent and the right job don’t always end up together”, the company states. “Mya’s vision is to create a solution where jobseekers get jobs faster. And hiring teams get the most qualified candidates by eliminating frictional unemployment.”
“In the future, conversational AI will help us to have meaningful interactions with our users and to find out what really matters to them.”
Co-founded by Eyal Grayevsky and James Maddox under the original name of FirstJob, its recruiting solution now supports hundreds of the leading enterprises and agencies. That includes 40 companies listen on the Fortune 500. In May 2021, Mya was acquired by StepStone. “In the future, conversational AI will help us to have meaningful interactions with our users and to find out what really matters to them”, said Dr. Sebastian Dettmers, CEO of StepStone.
PandoLogic (Wade & Wendy): Increasing recruiter’s bandwidth
AI powered recruitment chatbot Wade & Wendy was founded in 2015 by Drew Austin. As an on-demand recruitment automation platform, it increases recruiters’ bandwidth. It allows for a more human candidate experience, per the company. Their AI recruiter platform automates task-driven recruitment processes: sourcing, screening and recommending qualified & interested candidates.
In May 2021, programmatic job advertising platform PandaLogic acquired Wade & Wendy. As a result, it now offers a bundle with which quality applicants can be defined ‘without the inherent bias from human intervention’. “This acquisition reinforces our position as the most technologically advanced provider of AI-enabled recruitment automation software”, said Terry Baker, PandoLogic President and CEO.
